OUR STORY FROM THE BEGINNING.

In 2008, when Ellie and Russ first created Arson Fire, it was about a father and a daughter just having fun together in the kitchen and making something they could enjoy.

Fast forward to 2013 and Russ bought a vineyard at Adgestone on the Isle of Wight. The Adgestone Vineyard farm shop presented the perfect opportunity to make and sell Arson Fire on a small scale.

Russ and Ellie were joined by Philippa in 2019, and greater dreams were born to share the fun of Arson Fire with a wider audience.

Together they created an expanded product range and experimented with recipes using the Arson Fire product range. They were joined by friends and family who contributed with recipe suggestions and ideas to promote the brand.

With the support of a loyal customer base and other businesses on the Isle of Wight, the brand and its products went from strength to strength; being used in local restaurants and stocked in many local farm shops, delis and tourist destinations.

Arson Fire is a family run business in every sense of the word. From its initial creation, to what we hope will be an internationally recognised and enjoyed product.

ELLIE (BOO)’S STORY

I wanted to make a potion with Daddy.

Daddy liked making things, but some of the things he made I couldn’t help him with as the things he used to make stuff with were big and scary looking and made lots of noise and mess. Urgh!

I wanted to make something with Daddy that we could do together and it would be even better if we could use a tool to make something where I could be allowed to press the button that made the noise.

We were growing these pretty little bright red chillis and Daddy didn’t seem to know what to do with them so I said we could make a potion.

We put one of the pretty red chillis in the whirly mixing machine with a bit of water. I then got to press the big switch to make it spin really fast.

It seemed ok for a minute, then Daddy started to cough. Then I felt my throat going tickly and my eyes hurt.

It all happened very quickly. Daddy scooped me up and ran out of the house. When he stopped coughing he told me that the magic potion had worked too well and we had to wait a bit before we could go back in an finish it. I didn’t want to wait, but Daddy had his very serious face on and so I knew we had to wait.

It took AGES and AGES, but when Daddy said we could go back in and finish the potion I was very excited. I went straight to the fridge and started grabbing all the bits I could see in the fruit and vegetable drawer (that’s where all the best coloured things are).

I wanted to put the magic potion ingredients in the whirly mixer thing but Daddy said I couldn’t because the first potion we did was still hanging around and that would make me cough and get hurty eyes again. Daddy said he was bigger and tougher and so he should take the risk.

When the whirly machine did its mixing this time there was no tickly throat or hurty eyes. The potion me and Daddy had made tasted really nice and Daddy was very excited.
